Asparagus processing equipment

Separate white and green spears, then compare base trimming, selective peeling and tip-safe handling.

Crop guide · Asparagus preprocessing

Start with the retained product

Asparagus lines must protect the spear tip while defining the retained base and any peel. White and green asparagus need different peeling briefs; peeling every green spear is not an assumed requirement. TENRIT lists a dedicated asparagus peeler with supported feeding. Its photograph and film show that duty, while washing, grading and packaging remain separate stages.

Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.

Choose the finished-product route

Whole green spears

Inspect → trim bases → peel only if specified → configured wash → supported drain → grade → pack.

Agree tip condition and retained tender length.

Peeled white spears

Inspect/trim → supported peeling → inspect residual peel and loss → wash/drain as specified → grade → pack.

Specify diameter range, curvature and peeled length.

Cut spear ingredients

Prepare/peel where required → supported cutting → separate tips and stem pieces as specified → wash/drain → dose.

Keep tip and stem specifications separate.

Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.

Washing: keep spears supported and tips intact

KRONEN HEWA 3800 · Manufacturer equipment image; general washing-family reference

KRONEN HEWA 3800

General washing-family reference, not a confirmed asparagus configuration. Confirm retention, water movement, loading and supported outfeed for the chosen route.

Define wash order around trimming and peeling. Trial retention, water movement and outfeed with the smallest accepted spears. A general washer image does not prove tip-safe asparagus handling or removal of soil trapped beneath closed scales.

Include water filling and management, draining, rinse arrangements and cleaning access in the quotation. No chemical dose, microbial reduction or ready-to-eat result is established by a machine image or application list.

Trimming: specify peel length and spear support

TENRIT SOLO A

TENRIT identifies dedicated asparagus peeling. Agree white or green spears, peel length and curvature; inspect residual peel and useful loss.

TENRIT SOLO A

The supported feed detail helps explain spear presentation. Confirm tip protection, smallest spear retention and supplied adjustments in a representative trial.

TENRIT identifies the SOLO A asparagus peeler. Compare the supported feed, peeling stations and adjustments with actual white or green spears. Assess residual peel, curved-speared feeding and useful loss. Do not infer automatic suitability for every grade or a complete grading line.

Cutting: trim bases separately from portion cutting

Agree the retained tender length and whether tips stay whole. For pieces, check alignment, cut faces and tip separation. A general cutter needs an asparagus trial; the pictured peeler does not provide all downstream portion sizes.

Sorting: grade diameter and visible condition

Herbort Inspection Belt 85 · Manufacturer workshop photograph; manual inspection reference

Herbort Inspection Belt 85

Manual inspection reference. Confirm presentation and separate rejects for asparagus. It does not establish optical grading or internal-defect detection.

Separate size, length, tip closure and visible damage criteria. Manual inspection and dedicated size grading are different operations. The inspection-belt photograph does not establish automatic diameter measurement or internal-defect detection.

Dewatering: use supported spear drainage

Avoid uncontrolled drops and bunching during water removal. Check tips, bent spears and water retained in collection. Any proposed air or belt system requires an asparagus trial; no leafy-basket cycle or moisture target is assumed.

Agree the free-water and damage assessment after a realistic hold, then check the next transfer and doser. Surface-water removal differs from thermal drying, cooking and sterilisation.

Packaging: protect tips through feeding and seals

KRONEN FLEX L vertical bagging machine
KRONEN FLEX L · Manufacturer equipment reference; feeding, pack and options need confirmation

KRONEN FLEX L

General packaging-family reference. Confirm the actual asparagus feeder, doser, pack and seals. It does not establish whole-product fit, tray feeding, a MAP recipe or shelf life.

Whole spears may need oriented bunches or trays; cut ingredients need a different doser. Confirm supports, pack fit and seals with the actual crop. The general bagger does not establish bunch tying, tray loading or a shelf-life guarantee.

If MAP is proposed, obtain the exact gas-handling hardware, film, seals and distribution brief. A general bagger does not establish a gas recipe, shelf life or every optional configuration.

Compare peeling adjustments with supported spear handling

TENRIT links this SOLO A asparagus film from its current product page. Compare the supported feed and adjustable peeling duty with your spear range. White-spear footage does not establish a requirement to peel all green asparagus, nor does it verify loss, output or every optional conversion.

Prepare a asparagus equipment trial brief

  1. Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
  2. Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
  3. Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
  4. Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
  5. Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.

Questions before choosing asparagus equipment

Should all green asparagus be peeled?

That is a product specification, not a universal machine requirement. Define the retained peel and tender length, then trial the proposed operation with representative green or white spears.
