Know what a source check means.

Clear status labels are more useful than an unexplained verified badge.

Source statuses

Source pending
Material has been identified but the record is not yet checked sufficiently for publication.
Official source checked
Relevant information was read on an attributable official page or document on the stated date.
Manufacturer confirmed
Specific information was confirmed directly and the scope and date are recorded. This is not a general certification.
Needs review
A material inconsistency, unavailable source or reported change requires another check.

What is not verified

A website check does not establish factory ownership, production performance, creditworthiness, legal compliance or suitability for your recipe. Do not interpret a company record as a factory audit or purchasing recommendation.

Scope and dates

A source check applies to the facts actually checked, not every statement a company makes. Capacity figures should retain their operating conditions. A historical checked date is not a promise that the source is still current today.

Updating a record

Source changes, new documents and credible correction requests can trigger review. Information may be corrected, qualified or removed when it cannot be supported. Readers should reconfirm time-sensitive details directly with the supplier before ordering.
