How the directory is organised.

A broad food-machinery framework prioritising documented China suppliers, with overseas equipment retained as references and individual records added from supporting sources.

Updated 4 October 2026

A scalable food-to-equipment classification

The food hierarchy can extend through family, raw material or food branch, finished-product form and process-specific application. Machinery uses a separate hierarchy: function, equipment type, configuration and identifiable supplier model. The two trees connect through documented process duties; they are not forced into one universal tree.

Food records and machine records are different

A tomato can lead to fresh-cut, paste, juice or canned-food routes. A noodle route can differ by grain, fresh or dried output, and forming method. Egg routes can distinguish shell handling, liquid egg and powder. These illustrate the structure, not an exhaustive food list or machine recommendation.

Evidence before expansion

Every new detailed page needs a distinct purpose, useful content, attributable sources and contextual links. Many food and machine combinations are irrelevant: we do not generate a page for every combination or label a branch as covered merely because a generic mixer exists.

Record fields and future filters

Application records should separate material inlet condition, target output, process duty, batch or continuous operation, throughput with its unit, utilities, cleaning and packaging. These are the record-development specification, not live filters or supplier performance claims. Comparisons require equivalent test conditions and units.

Research basis and limits

Reviewed 11 October 2026. The FAO/WHO GIFT grouping methodology informs food breadth, Alibaba machinery navigation informs marketplace discovery, and GEA food markets illustrates industrial application breadth. Our grouping is an editorial adaptation, not their official taxonomy or endorsement. Marketplace titles are not engineering evidence.

Six connected record types

Food
The finished food or application being researched.
Process
An operation in a product-specific production route.
Machinery
An equipment type or functional category—not a specific model.
Product
An identifiable manufacturer and model with published source material.
Company
A business with a documented role and official source.
Location
A documented address connected to a company, not an assumed sales territory.

Broad coverage, specific relationships

Foods and equipment can have many-to-many relationships. A mixer may serve several food applications, and one food may have different production routes. Cross-industry systems—packaging, inspection, cleaning, conveying and refrigeration—are linked where they are relevant.

Manufacturer, integrator, distributor and service-provider roles are kept distinct. Mixed roles should be stated rather than simplified into a manufacturer label. A foreign-owned manufacturer can be included in China supplier coverage when its independent China company, production in China and entity-specific product sources are documented. Overseas parent records remain references; a China sales address alone does not establish a factory.

What qualifies for a record

  • A clear identity and an official or otherwise attributable source.
  • Useful information beyond a generic keyword description.
  • A defensible link to a food application or equipment family.
  • Source dates and any material uncertainty.

Incomplete submissions can be held for clarification. A submitted record is not automatically accepted or published.

Sources and regional coverage

Industry marketplaces can inform taxonomy research, but their catalogue descriptions and photographs are not copied wholesale. Regional pages open when documented company records make the page useful. No unverified supplier counts or empty city pages are used to imply coverage.

Free supplier submissions

Manual company and product submissions are free. Acceptance depends on useful, attributable information and an existing-record check; no fee, future payment obligation or publication guarantee is attached to submission.

Free supplier-submitted records display the company website as plain text without an outbound hyperlink. They may have relevant internal directory links, but no backlink, ranking, endorsement or priority placement is promised.
