Start with the retained product

Stem lettuce, also called celtuce or asparagus lettuce, is processed for its swollen edible stem. A head-lettuce corer does not establish stem peeling. Bango explicitly lists celtuce in a long-vegetable peeling family. A separate Fengxiang representative demonstration shows prepared pale-green sticks leaving a cutter; it is not a demonstration of that Bango peeler.

Choose the finished-product route

Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.

Washing: define cleaning before and after peeling

General washing-family reference, not a confirmed stem lettuce configuration. Confirm retention, water movement, loading and supported outfeed for the chosen route.

Incoming soil and detached leaves belong in the preparation brief. Check stem retention and the final rinse arrangement after peel removal. A general washer image is a family reference rather than a verified whole-celtuce installation.

Include water filling and management, draining, rinse arrangements and cleaning access in the quotation. No chemical dose, microbial reduction or ready-to-eat result is established by a machine image or application list.

Trimming: remove fibrous exterior without excessive loss

Cutting: support peeled stems for the chosen cut

The Fengxiang representative film shows pale-green sticks collected below the cutter. Compare strips with your required slices, sticks or dice; obtain the offered model and tooling separately. The video does not establish peeling, exact cut dimensions or measured yield.

Sorting: inspect residual fibre and cut quality

Manual inspection reference. Confirm presentation and separate rejects for stem lettuce. It does not establish optical grading or internal-defect detection.

Check remaining fibrous exterior, visible defects and split pieces after peeling and cutting. Manual inspection needs clear presentation and separate waste collection. No optical or internal-defect grading capability is established by the reference belt.

Dewatering: check free water and tender-stem damage

Compare supported draining with any proposed air system using actual peeled stems and cut pieces. Screen openings and transfer gaps must retain useful product. Surface draining does not establish thermal drying or an extended storage life.

Agree the free-water and damage assessment after a realistic hold, then check the next transfer and doser. Surface-water removal differs from thermal drying, cooking and sterilisation.

Packaging: specify whole-stem or cut-product presentation

General packaging-family reference. Confirm the actual stem lettuce feeder, doser, pack and seals. It does not establish whole-product fit, tray feeding, a MAP recipe or shelf life.

Peeled stems, slices and sticks have different feeder and pack needs. Check bridging, dose consistency and product in seals. The bagger image is a general family reference, not a confirmed whole-stem tray or MAP configuration.

If MAP is proposed, obtain the exact gas-handling hardware, film, seals and distribution brief. A general bagger does not establish a gas recipe, shelf life or every optional configuration.

Inspect celtuce sticks at the cutter discharge

The manufacturer representative identifies this celtuce stick-cutting demonstration and names Zhaoqing Fengxiang in its description. It explains the finished stick form. It does not show the Bango peeler, establish the quoted cutter model, or prove every slice/dice configuration; confirm those separately.

1. Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
2. Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
3. Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
4. Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
5. Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
