Write the cut specification
- State the incoming food, firmness, temperature condition and permitted preparation.
- Specify slice thickness or all dice/strip dimensions and an agreed distribution.
- Define edge quality, broken pieces, fines and permitted surface damage.
- Distinguish fixed-weight objectives from dimension-only cutting.
- Identify the exact tools, guiding and execution in the equipment offer.
Match tools to the task
Slicing, circular/crosscut, grid and strip/disc arrangements describe different routes. Tool spacing and feed motion do not automatically prove finished shape or target mass. Select the offered configuration using representative product samples.
Questions to settle before a quotation
- What incoming size, condition and permitted material define the trial?
- Which tools, cut dimensions or target weights are included in the offer?
- How are accepted pieces, fines, giveaway and changeovers measured?
Ask bidders to state trial material, accepted output, losses, utilities, changeover time and scope exclusions in writing. Compare the offered configuration using the same recipe and acceptance criteria.
Equipment trial & quotation guideEquipment choices
Food slicing machines
Compare slice thickness, product guidance and the actual slicing tool.
Food dicing machines
Specify all cut dimensions, tool arrangement and acceptable fines.
Food strip-cutting machines
Define strip cross-section, length and the agreed cutting arrangement.
Food fixed-weight portion cutters
Distinguish target portion mass from dimension-only or cut-count control.
Compare a cutting duty and prepare your brief
Start with the food and cut you need. These documented references help you ask comparable questions; they are not rankings, quotes or confirmed stock. Missing information stays explicit.
Use the same acceptance basis
Agree incoming food and condition, target cut dimensions, included tools, accepted good output, fines/yield, cleaning/changeover and upstream/downstream handover. Listed power is not energy per kilogram. Dimension-only cutting does not establish fixed-weight control.
Quotation, service and spare-part boundaries
- Ask who issues the configuration-specific quote and who installs and services the equipment at your destination.
- List included tools, guards, feed/discharge equipment, electrical adaptation, freight, installation, training and exclusions.
- Ask for exact spare-part identifiers and compatibility with the offered model/configuration, lead times and service terms. These are unconfirmed in this pilot.
- Agree representative trial material, good-output measurement and acceptance criteria before comparing bids.
Separate a service route from a service commitment
A manufacturer's service page or contact link does not establish an appointed dealer, on-site technician or response time at your destination. Ask the actual supplier to name the responsible legal entity and agree remote/on-site work, warranty scope, charges and acceptance records.
For parts, obtain the exact offered model and execution, serial number when available, manual and drawing revision, and written part compatibility. A shared brand or similar-looking knife does not prove interchangeability.
