Set the mixing duty before scaling
- List liquid, powder and particulate ingredients, their variation and addition format.
- State the required result: blended composition, dissolved solids, dispersion, texture or droplet/particle condition.
- Identify batch, single-pass or recirculating operation and measurement points.
- Describe actual material properties and their change during ingredient addition.
- Ask the supplier to explain how the trial result supports the selected production configuration.
Use compatible comparison measures
Circulating flow is not finished-product discharge. Batch volume is not output per hour. Mixing time excludes charging, discharge and cleaning unless these are explicitly counted. Motor power or rotor speed alone does not establish equivalent scale-up performance.
Questions to settle before a quotation
- How will the proposed workhead or pressure-rated execution meet the required endpoint?
- What trial data support the production working fill and complete cycle?
- What measurements and tolerances will be compared using the same recipe?
Ask bidders to state trial material, accepted output, losses, utilities, changeover time and scope exclusions in writing. Compare the offered configuration using the same recipe and acceptance criteria.
