Crop guide · Cauliflower preprocessing
Start with the retained product
A whole curd, selected florets and cauliflower-rice ingredients are different equipment briefs. Protect the required curd form and define where leaf removal, core separation and secondary size reduction take place.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Whole trimmed curds
Remove specified leaves/base → inspect → configured wash/drain route → support and pack.
Preserve the curd and bypass floretting and fine cutting.
Selected florets
Trim → orient → decore/divide → size-select/rework → wash → dewater → pack.
Define the size window and the route for oversize pieces.
Cauliflower-rice ingredients
Select prepared material → fine-cut → configured wash/dewater → dose and pack.
Agree permitted curd/stalk composition; a rice demonstration does not validate a recipe or shelf life.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: keep debris removal separate from curd protection

KRONEN GEWA 5000 PLUS
Compare the water path, loading, product retention and outfeed with actual cauliflower. An illustrated machine or line stage is not an independently measured crop-cleaning result.
The documented KRONEN brassica line washes prepared florets in GEWA 5000 PLUS equipment. Trial actual curd size, loading and discharge. Inspect leaf remnants, cores, fines and breakage.
Include water filling and management, draining, rinse arrangements and cleaning access in the quotation. No chemical dose, microbial reduction or ready-to-eat result is established by a machine image or application list.
Trimming: remove the agreed outer leaves and base

KRONEN
A supported preparation surface with separate collection paths. Define the accepted cauliflower portion before removing leaves, stalks, bases or other unwanted material.
Show accepted whole curds and prepared florets. Compare manual access and separate collection of good curd, useful stalk and waste. Automatic decoring needs head-size and orientation specifications.
Cutting: specify the primary and secondary cuts

Sweere Floreto
Compare the retained head/floret form, carrier orientation and supplied knife configuration. A manufacturer application listing does not replace a cauliflower trial.

KRONEN KUJ-V
A fine-cutting family for prepared inputs. It does not remove an intact head core. Specify input fit, tooling and desired pieces before adopting it for cauliflower.
Sweere lists cauliflower for Floreto. Define retained curd and additional size reduction separately. A KUJ-V-type rice route requires its own prepared input and fine-cut specification.
Sorting: separate size selection from visual quality

KRONEN
Compare presentation, operator visibility, good-product collection and rejects. This reference does not prove automated detection, grading or a cauliflower rejection rate.
Use examples of accepted florets, oversize, fines, leaf remnants and rejected curd condition. Compare manual presentation and a proposed grader. Measure useful-product loss as well as rejected material.
Dewatering: avoid counting broken curd as useful output
Trial draining or supplier-confirmed dewatering with actual florets. Check free water, breakage and fines after transfer and holding. Coordinate discharge with dosing to avoid wet accumulation.
Agree the free-water and damage assessment after a realistic hold, then check the next transfer and doser. Surface-water removal differs from thermal drying, cooking and sterilisation.
Packaging: support heads or dose loose curd

KRONEN FLEX L
Compare the actual cauliflower doser, drop, pack and seal clearance. Whole products or bunches may require different presentation. This reference does not establish every feeding or MAP option.
Whole curds need orientation and pack support. Florets and rice need bridging, dose and seal-clearance checks. Confirm any MAP configuration and actual distribution brief independently.
If MAP is proposed, obtain the exact gas-handling hardware, film, seals and distribution brief. A general bagger does not establish a gas recipe, shelf life or every optional configuration.
Follow the carriers and separate collection points
The official cauliflower film makes the carrier path and separate collections visible. Compare retained curd, core removal and final floret size with your own product brief;no measured yield is established by the demonstration.

No crop capacity, yield, cleaning, damage or shelf-life guarantee is inferred from the film.
Prepare a cauliflower equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing cauliflower equipment
Can one cut brief cover florets and cauliflower rice?
No. Florets preserve larger curd structures; rice needs a defined fine-cut input and output. Specify retained parts and tools separately.
