Crop guide · Colored bell pepper preprocessing
Start with the retained product
This entry covers bell-shaped peppers sold by colour or combined in a mixed pack. Shape and core-removal requirements overlap with other bell peppers, but mixed-colour dosing adds a separate task. A corer or ordinary bagger does not ensure a target colour ratio. Retain lot identity through preparation and verify the final mix.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Whole colour-selected fruit
Inspect separate lots → wash/drain → grade by agreed colour/size → pack or combine.
Define the acceptable colour and fruit count for each pack.
Cored halves or quarters
Pre-clean colour lots → orient → core/divide → inspect → drain → pack or mix.
PDS4L is a bell-pepper reference; check actual sizes and wall loss.
Mixed-colour strips or dices
Prepare each lot → configured cutting → inspect/dewater → meter colour components → pack.
Specify the mix by weight or another agreed measure, not visual guesswork.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: track colour lots through the wash

KRONEN HEWA 3800
General washing-family reference, not a confirmed colored bell pepper installation. Confirm retention, water movement, loading, outfeed and the selected whole or cut-product route.
Confirm lot changes, product retention and removal of carryover at transfers. Washing is distinct from colour selection. Check skin marks and water inside prepared cavities with representative red, yellow, green or other agreed fruit lots.
Include water filling and management, draining, rinse arrangements and cleaning access in the quotation. No chemical dose, microbial reduction or ready-to-eat result is established by a machine image or application list.
Trimming: inspect each prepared cavity

KRONEN PDS4L
PDS4L is a bell-pepper coring/dividing reference. Confirm actual fruit fit, stem presentation, seeds and trim loss. Long pointed peppers and chillies need a different confirmed scope.
The PDS4L reference illustrates coring and dividing of bell-shaped fruit. Check stem positioning, residual seeds and accepted wall thickness for actual lots. A single attractive machine photograph does not establish equal trim yield across varieties or maturities.
Cutting: specify a common cut across the mix

KRONEN GS 10-2
General GS 10-2 cutting reference. Confirm actual colored bell pepper support, input fit and tooling. Compare the pictured model and tooling with the actual arrangement in the film.
Set accepted strips, panels or dices with samples from every colour lot. Match feed and tooling to wall shape. Evaluate curved edges and soft pieces separately so one colour does not produce a different cut-size distribution.
Sorting: separate colour selection from defect rejection

Herbort Inspection Belt 85
Manual inspection reference. Compare product presentation, visibility and separate rejects. It does not establish optical grading, internal-defect detection or automatic colour mixing.
Define colour bands, partly coloured fruit and acceptable blemishes. A manual inspection belt does not provide an automatic colour sorter. If optical sorting is required, specify lighting, orientation and actual rejects independently.
Dewatering: verify comparable surface water in each lot

KRONEN KS-100 PLUS
General removable-basket reference for a supplier-confirmed cut-product route. Test actual colored bell pepper retention, damage and free water; whole products may need supported drainage instead.
Agree the proposed method for whole fruit or cut pieces. Record water carryover and damage before blending so pack weights are not confused with unequal free water. A basket-family image does not prescribe a universal pepper cycle.
Agree the free-water and damage assessment after a realistic hold, then check the next transfer and doser. Surface-water removal differs from thermal drying, cooking and sterilisation.
Packaging: meter the colour mix before sealing

KRONEN FLEX L
Packaging-family reference. Confirm the actual colored bell pepper feeder, doser, pack length and seals. It does not establish a punnet filler, shrink-wrapper, bunch packer or every MAP option.
The final pack needs configured component feeding or a verified manual assembly method. A single product doser does not guarantee a red/yellow/green ratio. Trial segregation, restart, bridging, seal clearance and the agreed pack-weight distribution.
If MAP is proposed, obtain the exact gas-handling hardware, film, seals and distribution brief. A general bagger does not establish a gas recipe, shelf life or every optional configuration.
Follow bell peppers through coring and dividing
KRONEN shows a PDS4L bell-pepper preparation arrangement. Compare indexed positioning, the opened interior and separate collection. The film does not validate long pointed sweet peppers, chillies, colour-mix accuracy or any quoted commercial output.

- Around 1:17: Whole bell peppers sit on the indexed feed, with opened red pepper sections in the foreground.
Current manufacturer links and source identity were checked. Confirm the offered version and configuration separately from historical demonstration footage. No crop capacity, yield, cleaning, damage or shelf-life guarantee is inferred from the film.
Prepare a colored bell pepper equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing colored bell pepper equipment
Does a general bagger guarantee a mixed-colour pepper ratio?
No. Colour components need a defined metering or assembly arrangement before sealing, and the completed packs need a mix assessment.
