Define the room and heat load
- State inventory, incoming product condition, packaging and storage movement.
- Agree ambient design conditions, door use and operating schedule.
- Assign panels, floor, doors, supports and refrigeration scope.
- Document power, heat rejection, drainage and access responsibilities.
- Specify monitoring, records, commissioning and service handover.
Questions to settle before a quotation
- Who calculates and documents the actual room heat load?
- Which refrigeration model, rating conditions and regional installation scope are offered?
- What installed demonstration verifies the agreed room duty and records?
Ask bidders to state trial material, accepted output, losses, utilities, changeover time and scope exclusions in writing. Compare the offered configuration using the same recipe and acceptance criteria.
Equipment trial & quotation guideKeep scope boundaries visible
A room enclosure, a refrigeration unit and a product freezer are separate procurement duties. Decide whether hot-product pull-down is included; storage-only selection is not automatically suitable for rapid cooling.

Common questions
Does a room-area maximum prove the unit will handle my food load?
Request a documented calculation using the actual room, incoming product and operating conditions. Area alone does not establish the cooling duty.
