Represent the actual food and receiving duty
- Include normal and difficult recipe variations and the relevant transfer condition.
- Agree measurements at pump inlet, discharge and the receiving equipment.
- Record delivered material, product damage, foaming, residue and transfer losses where relevant.
- Distinguish volumetric flow from mass flow using the actual material basis.
- Include charging, emptying, cleaning and recipe changes in usable-output comparisons.
Connect transfer to the next operation
A pump trial should demonstrate the condition of the material delivered to mixing, separation or filling. Agree the sample, measurement points and accepted result in advance. Supplier application examples are starting points for an enquiry, not trials of your recipe.
Questions to settle before a quotation
- What receiving flow and product condition define accepted output?
- How are particle damage, texture change, air entrainment and residue measured?
- Which supplier owns the pump, piping, valve routing and receiving interface?
Ask bidders to state trial material, accepted output, losses, utilities, changeover time and scope exclusions in writing. Compare the offered configuration using the same recipe and acceptance criteria.
