Retort-room capacity & interfaces

Compare complete batch cycles, basket handling, utilities and control responsibilities.

Compare accepted output across a complete batch cycle

  • Count accepted packages per load using the actual basket and tray arrangement.
  • Include loading, heating, the accepted treatment, cooling and unloading in the cycle.
  • Account for recipe changes, cleaning, handling queues and available services.
  • Identify basket loading, transport, retort delivery and unloading responsibilities.
  • Define controls, load identification, records and commissioning in the supply boundary.

State utility and interface assumptions

Basket count, vessel diameter and a short demonstration cycle are different measures. Require the quoted capacity to state package, load, approved process basis and utility assumptions. Equipment automation and recording options do not establish product-specific process validation by themselves.

Questions to settle before a quotation

  • What complete cycle and actual loading arrangement support packs per hour?
  • Which utilities, handling stations and control interfaces are included?
  • Who demonstrates the agreed trial, records, package condition and installed handover?

Ask bidders to state trial material, accepted output, losses, utilities, changeover time and scope exclusions in writing. Compare the offered configuration using the same recipe and acceptance criteria.
