Crop guide · Daikon radish preprocessing
Start with the retained product
Long white radish needs a length, diameter and shape brief before machinery is selected. Decide whether it remains skin-on, is peeled in sections or becomes slices, strips or dices. Do not assume a potato-size machine accepts an intact daikon.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Washed whole daikon
Trim tops/tips → configured wash → inspect/size-select → drain → support and pack.
Retain the requested length and skin; check every opening and transfer.
Peeled sections
Pre-clean → trim/pre-cut if allowed → peel → inspect → wash/drain → pack.
The referenced KRONEN root-line route calls for pre-cutting long products such as radishes. Confirm the offered machine and retained length.
Cut radish ingredients
Prepare → peel if specified → size/align → cut → wash/dewater → portion.
Provide separate slice, strip and dice samples and permitted input forms.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: support the long root in pre-cleaning

KRONEN
Compare the water path, loading, product retention and outfeed with actual daikon radish. An illustrated machine or line stage is not an independently measured crop-cleaning result.

KRONEN GEWA 3800 ECO
Compare the water path, loading, product retention and outfeed with actual daikon radish. An illustrated machine or line stage is not an independently measured crop-cleaning result.
Compare soil removal and the presentation of tapered or curved roots. The water bunker is a root-family reference: actual daikon fit, support and discharge need confirmation. Distinguish final washing after peeling/cutting.
Include water filling and management, draining, rinse arrangements and cleaning access in the quotation. No chemical dose, microbial reduction or ready-to-eat result is established by a machine image or application list.
Trimming: match peeling to retained length

KRONEN PL 40K
Use only when the retained-product brief requires peeling. Carrot and beetroot are explicitly listed;exact daikon and small red-radish setups need confirmation. Preserve a bypass for skin-on roots.
Define allowed top/tail removal and pre-cut sections. PL 40K is a family reference, not an intact-daikon guarantee. If whole length must remain, require a long-root peeling proposal demonstrated with actual material.
Cutting: choose geometry before speed

KRONEN GS 10-2
The detail exposes the feed and cutting assembly for explanation. Check actual daikon radish support and tooling. Operation and service must follow the supplier guarding and isolation procedure.

KRONEN KUJ-V
A fine-cutting family for prepared inputs. It does not remove an intact head core. Specify input fit, tooling and desired pieces before adopting it for daikon radish.
Set slice thickness or strip/dice cross-section and allowed pre-cut input. The GS 10-2 montage explains a cutting family with multiple products; it does not establish a measured daikon run or cut result.
Sorting: make shape and internal quality separate checks

KRONEN
Compare presentation, operator visibility, good-product collection and rejects. This reference does not prove automated detection, grading or a daikon radish rejection rate.
Define size, straightness, surface condition, peel remnants and cut quality at the correct stages. General roller-table inspection must not be assumed to reveal every internal defect.
Dewatering: measure water carried by the retained form

KRONEN KS-100 PLUS
Compare loading, distribution, unloading and retained free water using actual daikon radish. The removable-basket photograph is a family reference, not a validated crop programme.
Compare draining whole/sectioned roots with the treatment of cut pieces. Check broken ends, fines and free water at the packer. Trial the actual geometry instead of adopting a potato programme.
Agree the free-water and damage assessment after a realistic hold, then check the next transfer and doser. Surface-water removal differs from thermal drying, cooking and sterilisation.
Packaging: preserve root length or dose cut pieces

KRONEN FLEX L
Compare the actual daikon radish doser, drop, pack and seal clearance. Whole products or bunches may require different presentation. This reference does not establish every feeding or MAP option.
Specify sleeve/bag support for whole roots or configured loose-piece feeding. Check bridging and product crossing seals. Confirm that the offered packer accepts the intended whole or sectioned form.
If MAP is proposed, obtain the exact gas-handling hardware, film, seals and distribution brief. A general bagger does not establish a gas recipe, shelf life or every optional configuration.
Compare feed and tool changes across products
This official multi-product GS 10-2 film is a machine-family reference. It does not establish an exact daikon, small red-radish or beetroot trial. Confirm each retained root form, input fit and cutting tool separately.

Prepare a daikon radish equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing daikon radish equipment
Can a compact root peeler keep daikon whole?
Only with a supplier-confirmed length, diameter and feed arrangement. A route that requires pre-cutting cannot meet a whole-length specification.
