Concentration utilities & interfaces

Connect feed preparation, water removal, heating, cooling and downstream use.

State the concentration boundary

  • Specify feed composition, incoming condition and required concentrate.
  • Keep feed rate, water removal and concentrate output separate.
  • Identify heating, vacuum, cooling, vapor reuse and condensate duties in the offer.
  • Agree the cleaning, startup and product-change period included in usable output.
  • Assign receiving tanks, transfer and downstream drying or packing responsibilities.

Check the offered energy basis

Installed power, steam demand and measured energy use are different quantities. Identify the heating configuration and the denominator used for consumption estimates. A multiple-effect or vapor-recompression option must be explicitly included in the quoted plant.

Questions to settle before a quotation

  • What feed and endpoint support the offered evaporator arrangement?
  • Who supplies site services and interfaces at each connection point?
  • How will product condition, utility use and accepted concentrate be demonstrated?

Ask bidders to state trial material, accepted output, losses, utilities, changeover time and scope exclusions in writing. Compare the offered configuration using the same recipe and acceptance criteria.

Common questions

Does reaching a solids concentration prove shelf life?

Product, preservation, package and storage requirements need their own validation. This guide does not prescribe temperatures, concentration thresholds or release criteria.
