Tea extraction systems

Define leaf-based extraction separately from blending purchased tea concentrate.

Function and buying scope

Ask for the raw tea grade, target extract and clarification requirements. The supplier brief must show where leaves enter, where extract is collected and where spent leaves leave the system. A leaf extractor does not establish the specification of a finished ready-to-drink beverage.

Prepare the supplier brief

  • Is the feed dry leaf, concentrate or an already prepared extract?
  • What extract concentration and sensory acceptance criteria apply?
  • Which cooling and clarification components are included?
  • What cycle losses and spent-leaf handling are measured?

Ask each bidder to document samples, accepted output, losses, changeovers, utilities, installation and exclusions. Use the trial and quotation guide to keep offers comparable.
