Crop guide · Coriander leaf preprocessing
Start with the retained product
Coriander leaf, also called cilantro, is different from dried coriander seed. Specify root retention, accepted tender stems and the final whole or chopped presentation. The KRONEN herb-cutting demonstration explains supported leafy-herb feeding using parsley and chives; it is not an identified coriander acceptance run.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Bunches
Inspect → trim roots or ends to specification → clean as required → drain → align → pack.
Define whether roots are retained.
Loose leaves and tender stems
Sort/trim → clean as specified → gentle free-water removal → portion/pack.
Leaf-only and leaf-plus-stem grades differ.
Chopped ingredients
Prepare retained tissue → supported cutting → inspect → drain as required → dose.
Seed milling is a different duty.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: separate root soil from the retained leaves

Sormac PULSTAR
Sormac lists fresh-herb washing, with actual crop and process configuration agreed separately. Trial retention, water movement and discharge for coriander leaf. No measured cleaning or storage result is adopted.
State whether incoming bunches have roots. Remove loose field debris and define wash order around root trimming. Sormac describes configurable fresh-herb handling; exact cilantro retention, water movement and outfeed require a trial rather than copied leaf settings.
Include water filling and management, draining, rinse arrangements and cleaning access in the quotation. No chemical dose, microbial reduction or ready-to-eat result is established by a machine image or application list.
Trimming: agree root and tender-stem retention

KRONEN
KRONEN supported manual preparation table with separate waste collection. Define retained coriander leaf tissue; this is not an automatic peeler, leaf stripper or root recogniser.
Show an accepted bunch and a chopped ingredient sample. Manual trimming can retain roots for one buyer and remove them for another. The preparation table is not an automatic root recogniser or leaf stripper.
Cutting: support bunches without crushing leaves

KRONEN GS 10-2
KRONEN supported cutting-family reference. Confirm current tooling and actual coriander leaf suitability require confirmation. No every-cut attachment or exact version equivalence is inferred.
KRONEN lists herb cutting and links footage with parsley/chives. Use the moving supported-feed example to ask about alignment and loose leaves; it does not prove coriander-specific output. Compare cut edges, intact stems and fragments with actual cilantro.
Sorting: inspect whole bunches and loose ingredients differently

Herbort Inspection Belt 85
Herbort manual inspection reference. Present actual coriander leaf surfaces for viewing; no automatic turning, species identification or internal scanning is established.
Spread loose leaves to expose unwanted plant material. Bunch inspection should include the base and concealed inner leaves. A manual belt does not automatically identify mixed herbs or detect every foreign object.
Dewatering: retain fine leaves at every outlet

Sormac SC/NextGen
Sormac lists the SC/NextGen family for herb free-water removal. Trial actual coriander leaf loading, retention and discharge. This is surface-water removal, not dried-herb manufacture or a prescribed cycle.
For a wet route, trial mesh retention, basket loading or continuous drainage without matting. Inspect free water after holding and transfer. A generic herb centrifuge image does not establish a cilantro programme or drying to a storage moisture level.
Agree the free-water and damage assessment after a realistic hold, then check the next transfer and doser. Surface-water removal differs from thermal drying, cooking and sterilisation.
Packaging: choose bunch, punnet or ingredient dosing

KRONEN FLEX L
General packaging-family reference. Confirm actual coriander leaf feeding, portion and seals. It does not establish a tray filler, paste filler, gas recipe or shelf-life result.
Aligned bunches need different support from loose chopped herbs. Trial bridging, compression and pieces entering seals. A vertical bagger image is a family reference; obtain the correct feeder, film and any specified gas hardware separately.
If MAP is proposed, obtain the exact gas-handling hardware, film, seals and distribution brief. A general bagger does not establish a gas recipe, shelf life or every optional configuration.
Watch supported herb presentation before the cutting chamber
KRONEN names parsley and chives in this GS 10 herb demonstration and still links it from the current GS 10-2 page. Compare support and alignment; historical GS 10 footage does not prove all current variants are identical. For coriander leaf, basil, mint and dill, this is a closely related herb-feeding reference, not an identified crop acceptance run. Trial actual leaf integrity, stem content and smallest useful pieces.

Current manufacturer links and source identity were checked. Confirm the offered version and configuration separately from historical demonstration footage. Original English watch notes provide a text alternative; no full transcript is reproduced. Playback is on YouTube. No crop capacity, yield, cleaning, damage or shelf-life guarantee is inferred from the film.
Prepare a coriander leaf equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing coriander leaf equipment
Does coriander seed equipment prepare cilantro leaves?
No. Fresh leaves and tender stems need their own trimming, handling and cut-form brief. Dried seed milling is a separate application.
