Crop guide · Passion fruit preprocessing
Start with the retained product
A passion fruit line can end with whole fruit, prepared pieces or an ingredient stream. Compare those routes before combining machines. Manufacturer references below explain equipment duties; the actual fruit, tooling and accepted output remain part of the supply specification.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Whole fresh fruit
inspect, clean as specified, grade and pack without extraction.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Seed-bearing pulp
open or extract, separate peel and retain the required seed/pulp mixture.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Refined juice
extract, separate unwanted seeds and solids, then transfer to the specified downstream process.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: match cleaning to the destination

Bertuzzi InoxAll
The manufacturer presents this washer family in its passion-fruit processing reference. Confirm actual cleaning, brushing and inspection requirements before extraction.
Bertuzzi describes a washing basin and brushing ahead of passion-fruit extraction. Evaluate the incoming fruit surface, supports and debris removal with the actual material. Whole-fruit retail handling should not automatically copy a juice-processing sequence.
Trimming: separate peel, seed, core and stone decisions
Choose whole fruit, seed-bearing pulp or refined juice first. Whole packs bypass the extractor. Define peel separation and whether seeds are retained rather than adding an assumed conventional peeling stage.
Cutting: choose pieces, reduction or extraction

Bertuzzi SuperPassyPress
Bertuzzi describes dedicated peel opening and extraction of pulp and seeds. Subsequent seed/solids refining is a separate duty; no extraction yield is adopted.

Bertuzzi PassyPress
A closer view of the extractor feeding arrangement. It does not establish a fresh-half cutter, final juice texture or the complete supplied line.
Bertuzzi PassyPress uses a dedicated extraction arrangement that opens the peel and collects pulp and seeds. A separate refining step can address unwanted seeds and solids. These operations are not equivalent to cutting fresh halves for retail.
Sorting: inspect the retained product
Inspect incoming fruit before extraction, and specify peel contamination and the retained pulp/seed mixture afterwards. Set the refiner and acceptance samples for the intended juice texture. No universal seed-removal or extraction-yield claim is adopted.
Dewatering: distinguish water removal from processing
Drain exterior wash water before extraction as required by the line design. Juice refining, centrifugation and concentration change the product stream; they are not simply surface drying. Keep peel waste and retained juice distinct in the output balance.
Packaging: match the feeder and final pack

Bertuzzi
A bulk processing-line filling reference, not a whole-fruit or fresh-cut packer. Product preservation and filling must be designed as one system; the image alone establishes no validated treatment or storage life.
Whole-fruit cartons, seed-bearing pulp portions and bulk refined juice require different filling and closure systems. The illustrated bulk filler is a downstream processing reference; thermal treatment, filling conditions and storage life need their own validated specification.
Compare the actual retained product in a supplier trial
For passion fruit, ask the maker to demonstrate the intended whole-fruit, prepared-piece or ingredient route. No unrelated generic film is substituted here. The equipment photographs and written source descriptions explain the roles without requiring video playback.
Prepare a passion fruit equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing passion fruit equipment
Can one machine perform all passion fruit preparation stages?
No. Whole-fruit handling, peeling or seed/stone removal, cutting, refining and packing have different duties. Compare actual product trials and the supplied interfaces rather than treating a machine photograph as a complete line.
