Crop guide · Pineapple preprocessing
Start with the retained product
A pineapple line can end with whole fruit, prepared pieces or an ingredient stream. Compare those routes before combining machines. Manufacturer references below explain equipment duties; the actual fruit, tooling and accepted output remain part of the supply specification.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Whole fruit
inspect, clean as required, grade and pack with crown handling specified.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Rings, chunks or fingers
clean, trim, peel, core as ordered, cut and inspect.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Juice or puree
prepare accepted fruit and specify extraction or reduction separately from fresh-cut tooling.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: match cleaning to the destination
Specify cleaning for the actual skin condition and destination. Keep handling of intact crowns and ends separate from the exposed flesh route. A prewash or brush system must be assessed for supports, retained debris and waste separation, not only for nominal flow.
Trimming: separate peel, seed, core and stone decisions

ASTRA KA-750PM
A manufacturer pineapple-peeling photograph. Define residual eyes, core retention and further cuts separately from outer peel removal.
Define crown and end removal, outer peeling, residual eyes and the amount of core retained. KRONEN AMS 220 includes a switchable pineapple coring function. Exterior peeling and core removal remain different acceptance decisions; the photograph does not establish an eye-free finished product.
Cutting: choose pieces, reduction or extraction

KRONEN GS 10-2
A GS belt-cutting family reference. Confirm prepared fruit, maturity, blade and infeed support. Peeling, coring, destoning and final pack closing are separate operations.
Choose rings, chunks, fingers or juice material before selecting tooling. KRONEN lists prepared pineapple-strip cutting for its GS family. Require actual peeled and cored feed dimensions and inspect fines, crushing and irregular pieces.
Sorting: inspect the retained product

Herbort Inspection Belt 85
A manual inspection conveyor. Agree the viewing and reject procedure; this photograph does not establish optical or internal-defect detection.
Inspect incoming fruit separately from prepared flesh. The fresh-cut brief should address rind, eyes, core remnants, damaged pieces and the required shape. If automatic foreign-material detection is proposed, define its role and acceptance trial separately.
Dewatering: distinguish water removal from processing
Control rinse-water carryover and collect free juice at the cut-product discharge. Avoid treating this as juice extraction. A useful-flesh balance should distinguish water, edible juice, trimmed material and rejected pieces.
Packaging: match the feeder and final pack
Whole-fruit cartons, supported fresh-cut portions, frozen ingredients and liquid products use different packaging interfaces. Confirm draining, feeder drops, sticking and seal contamination with the intended pineapple product.
Pineapple equipment reference
KRONEN links this pineapple-cutting reference from its belt-cutter page and describes prepared strips as the input. Cutting does not establish prior peeling, eye removal or coring.

Questions to compare with the proposed equipment
- Which operation removes peel and which removes core?
- Are prepared strips required before the cutter?
- How are eyes, core remnants and useful pieces inspected?
These comparison questions follow the written equipment description. Video content and playback have not been independently reviewed. No timestamps, measured result or verified playback claim is supplied. The written guide stands on its own.
Prepare a pineapple equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing pineapple equipment
Can one machine perform all pineapple preparation stages?
No. Whole-fruit handling, peeling or seed/stone removal, cutting, refining and packing have different duties. Compare actual product trials and the supplied interfaces rather than treating a machine photograph as a complete line.
