Persimmon processing equipment

Choose the retained persimmon product before selecting washing, preparation, cutting and packing equipment.

Crop guide · Persimmon preprocessing

Start with the retained product

Compare the finished-product routes before combining machines. Attributed equipment photographs, output examples and English selection notes below explain the duties. Confirm the actual fruit, supplied tooling and accepted output with representative samples.

Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.

Choose the finished-product route

Whole fresh fruit

inspect, clean as specified, classify and support through packing.

Compare the feed and accepted output at every handoff.

Peeled fruit or fresh pieces

prepare the calyx area, peel the specified fruit, cut if required and portion.

Compare the feed and accepted output at every handoff.

Dried or pulp products

prepare fruit, then specify dehydration or pulp reduction as a separate downstream process.

Compare the feed and accepted output at every handoff.

Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.

Washing: match cleaning to the destination

Define the actual cultivar, maturity and firmness before selecting water contact and transfers. Compare the exterior finish, calyx area and damage after handling. Cleaning equipment is not a deastringency system. If a buyer requires a particular eating-quality or treatment programme, agree that independently of the washer and packing line.

Trimming: define skin, stem and seed preparation

ASTRA KA-700H · Manufacturer apple demonstration photograph; related peeler family

ASTRA KA-700H

The photo shows apple handling. The maker separately lists persimmon compatibility. Compare actual persimmon support, calyx preparation, blade and firmness; the apple demonstration is not a persimmon acceptance test.

Peeled Jiro persimmons pictured by ASTRA
ASTRA · Manufacturer peeled-persimmon output photograph

ASTRA

The maker identifies these as peeled Jiro persimmons. An output example helps define the desired finish; it establishes neither universal cultivar fit nor measured yield. Seed removal, cutting and drying are separate duties.

ASTRA explicitly lists persimmon for its KA-700H peeling family. Match supports, blade and the actual fruit condition to the offer. The manufacturer also shows peeled Jiro persimmon output; that is a named reference, not proof of the result for every cultivar. Prepare the calyx and any retained stalk to the finished-product specification. For hanging dried fruit, clarify the required stalk condition before trimming.

Cutting: choose pieces, reduction or extraction

Specify whole peeled fruit, wedges, slices or pulp before choosing further cutting. Show the supplier which calyx tissue, seeds or damaged material must be removed. A rotating peeler does not automatically remove internal seeds or perform the final cut. Very soft material and firm sliceable fruit need different feeding and accepted-output trials.

Sorting: inspect the retained product

Herbort Inspection Belt 85 · Manufacturer workshop photograph; manual inspection reference

Herbort Inspection Belt 85

A manual inspection conveyor. Agree the viewing and reject procedure; this photograph does not establish optical or internal-defect detection.

Inspect whole fruit separately from peeled or cut material. Define peel remnants, damaged areas, unwanted seeds, irregular cuts and useful rework. A manual inspection conveyor illustrates an operator station; it is not an automatic firmness, astringency or internal-quality detector. Any proposed automatic grading needs its own sensor and sample specification.

Dewatering: separate surface water from processing

Surface-water removal before packing and dehydration for dried persimmon are different duties. Compare supported drainage of prepared fruit without squeezing useful flesh. For a dried product, request a complete dryer and product programme with a verified acceptance method; this guide adopts no treatment cycle, temperature or storage-life recipe.

Packaging: match support, portioning and closure

Whole fruit, peeled portions and dried products need different supports and feeders. Compare bruising, sticking, free liquid and contamination around the final seal with actual samples. Confirm whether the offer supplies only preparation or also the final portioning and pack closure. Packaging alone does not establish deastringency or preservation.

Compare the actual retained product in a supplier trial

For persimmon, ask the maker to demonstrate the intended whole-fruit, prepared-piece or ingredient route. No unrelated generic film is substituted here. The equipment photographs and written source descriptions explain the roles without requiring video playback.

Prepare a persimmon equipment trial brief

  1. Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
  2. Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
  3. Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
  4. Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
  5. Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.

Questions before choosing persimmon equipment

What cultivar and firmness are being peeled?

Include this point in the supplier trial and quotation. Show actual accepted and rejected samples, and record the supplied configuration and retained output.

Should the calyx or stalk be retained for the intended product?

Include this point in the supplier trial and quotation. Preparation, retained product and downstream interfaces must be agreed separately from the equipment photograph.

Does the offer include cutting, treatment, drying or only peeling?

Include this point in the supplier trial and quotation. Preparation, retained product and downstream interfaces must be agreed separately from the equipment photograph.
