Food ingredient receiving and unpacking workflow

Record received ingredient lots and connect package unloading to the correct conveying and weighing route.

Record the received ingredient

Record the ingredient identity, supplier lot, packaging state and the site’s release status. Separate unopened bags awaiting approval from ingredients released for production. Define how the received lot connects to the intended recipe and who resolves a damaged or incorrectly labelled bag.

Unload the correct package

Use the offered small-sack or FIBC configuration. Plan package opening, product containment, bag-liner control and collection of empty packaging with the supplier and site team. Retain lot identity through the hopper and account for recovered material and residual ingredients. This workflow is not an equipment operating procedure.

Transfer to the intended receiver

Define hopper outlet, material level, conveying route and receiver readiness. Preserve the distinction between unloading a bag, moving the ingredient and weighing a recipe dose. Agree blocking signals, queues and ownership of the interfaces; a flow aid does not make an unloader a calibrated dosing machine.

Changeover and exceptions

Specify cleaning access, inspection and the site’s allergen-control checks for the actual recipe change. Record empty-bag residues, interrupted discharge, wrong-lot prevention and any unresolved contamination issue. Acceptance needs the offered configuration, trial material and responsible parties.

Settle the offered food configuration

Specify the actual ingredient, bag, product-contact materials, seals, dust handling, cleaning access and downstream controls. Confirm the supplied installation with the manufacturer and site team. A series name or stainless-steel option does not establish suitability for every food, validated allergen cleaning, dust-hazard certification or accepted recipe output.

Plan screening between receiving and feed

Confirm ingredient release, screen identity, retained-material handling and the material-transfer destination. Specify the hopper grille and final powder screen separately.
