Crop guide · Avocado preprocessing
Start with the retained product
Compare whole fruit, prepared edible portions and processed ingredients before combining machines. Attributed equipment and process images below explain the different duties; actual fruit, tooling and accepted output remain part of the supply specification.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Whole fresh fruit
clean as specified, inspect, classify and pack.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Intact flesh or pieces
open, remove the stone and skin as ordered, inspect and portion.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Puree or oil-feed material
prepare fruit, destone and refine to the required ingredient specification.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: match cleaning to the destination

Bertuzzi
A processing-line wash reference. Washing the exterior and preparing useful flesh are separate duties; match transfers to the actual maturity.
Bertuzzi illustrates an InoxAll washer before avocado processing. Match the actual cleaning and transfers to cultivar, maturity and destination. The equipment photo is a processing-line reference, not proof of an agreed ripe-fruit handling programme.
Trimming: separate peel, seed and shell decisions
Fresh-cut halves and puree retain different flesh forms. Define opening, stone removal and skin separation separately. Do not assume that a destoner intended for processing material preserves an intact retail half.
Cutting: choose pieces, reduction or extraction

Bertuzzi
The described route separates stone and part of the peel before refining. It is an ingredient/puree operation, not evidence of intact retail avocado halves.

Bertuzzi
Refining belongs to the ingredient route. Agree retained solids and texture; no yield, whole-half recovery or universal product result is inferred.
Bertuzzi describes avocado destoning and refining for puree and oil-feed preparation. This reference belongs to that processing route. For pieces, confirm a separate suitable preparation/cutting arrangement and inspect damage and residual unwanted material.
Sorting: inspect the retained product
Inspect whole-fruit classes separately from skin fragments, stone material and damaged prepared flesh. A processing destoner does not establish a universal fragment-free product or automatic ripeness measurement.
Dewatering: distinguish water removal from processing
Control rinse-water carryover and product loss at preparation transfers. Puree refining and oil extraction are different duties from draining cut flesh. Specify the retained solids and subsequent process rather than treating every separation step as dewatering.
Packaging: match the feeder and final pack

Bertuzzi
A bulk processing-line filling reference, not a whole-fruit or fresh-cut packer. Product preservation and filling must be designed as one system; the image alone establishes no validated treatment or storage life.
Whole-fruit cartons, supported fresh-cut packs and puree or oil-feed bulk containers have different interfaces. Compare deformation, sticking, dose control and closure. Packaging alone does not establish control of browning, preservation or storage life.
Compare the actual retained product in a supplier trial
For avocado, ask the maker to demonstrate the intended whole-fruit, prepared-piece or ingredient route. No unrelated generic film is substituted here. The equipment photographs and written source descriptions explain the roles without requiring video playback.
Prepare an avocado equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing avocado equipment
Can one machine perform all avocado preparation stages?
Compare the required input and retained output at each interface. Whole-fruit handling, opening, peeling or seed removal, cutting, refining and packing are separate duties. A machine photograph is not evidence of a complete processing line.
