Crop guide · Kiwifruit preprocessing
Start with the retained product
Compare whole fruit, prepared edible portions and processed ingredients before combining machines. Attributed equipment and process images below explain the different duties; actual fruit, tooling and accepted output remain part of the supply specification.
Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.
Choose the finished-product route
Whole fruit
receive, clean as specified, inspect, grade and pack.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Peeled pieces
clean, peel and trim ends as ordered, cut and portion.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Puree
prepare accepted fruit and specify reduction/refining and downstream filling.
Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.
Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.
Washing: match cleaning to the destination

Bertuzzi
A kiwi processing-line washing reference. Define incoming condition, handling and the subsequent retained product separately; no universal treatment is specified.
Bertuzzi illustrates an immersion washer and inspection station for its kiwi processing route. Confirm the incoming surface condition and destination. Do not equate a puree-processing washing example with a validated fresh-cut handling programme.
Trimming: separate peel, seed and shell decisions

KRONEN / ZTI
KRONEN lists kiwi in this peeler application. The equipment bears ZTI branding. Confirm manual feeding, pocket fit and actual peel finish with representative fruit.
KRONEN explicitly lists whole kiwifruit for Orki18. The machine family uses product pockets and adjustable peeling depth. Compare ends, retained flesh and fruit supports with the actual cultivar and maturity; an equipment photograph establishes no yield or universal fruit-size suitability.
Cutting: choose pieces, reduction or extraction
Choose slices, chunks or puree before selecting further equipment. Small seeds are part of the desired texture in many products; if a buyer wants a different refined texture, state that separately. Do not add a stone-removal stage by analogy with mango or avocado.
Sorting: inspect the retained product

Bertuzzi
Manual inspection of processing input. It is distinct from automatic internal-quality grading and from peeling or final pack closing.
Whole-fruit grading and inspection of peeled or cut material require separate samples. Define peel remnants, end tissue, damaged pieces and the desired colour/firmness classes. A manual inspection photo is not proof of automatic internal-quality measurement.
Dewatering: distinguish water removal from processing
Check water on whole fruit before grading, and free water or juice around prepared pieces before portioning. Puree concentration is a different operation from drainage and should not be described as a dryer setting.
Packaging: match the feeder and final pack
Whole-fruit packs, fresh-cut portions and bulk puree use different fillers and closures. Confirm support, portion size and seal contamination with the actual retained product; bulk filling does not establish a storage-life result.
Citrus and kiwi peeling reference
KRONEN links this ZTI smart machines reference from its Orki18 product page. The written application includes kiwi and manual pocket loading. Confirm actual size, maturity, tooling and the offered machine revision; no filmed operating result has been independently reviewed.

Questions to compare with the proposed equipment
- How is fruit held during peeling?
- What end tissue and peel remnants are acceptable?
- Is the next operation fresh-piece cutting or puree refining?
These comparison questions follow the written equipment description. Video content and playback have not been independently reviewed. No timestamps, measured result or verified playback claim is supplied. The written guide stands on its own.
Prepare a kiwifruit equipment trial brief
- Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
- Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
- Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
- Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
- Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.
Questions before choosing kiwifruit equipment
Can one machine perform all kiwifruit preparation stages?
Compare the required input and retained output at each interface. Whole-fruit handling, opening, peeling or seed removal, cutting, refining and packing are separate duties. A machine photograph is not evidence of a complete processing line.
