Durian processing equipment

Choose the retained durian product before selecting washing, preparation, cutting and packing equipment.

Crop guide · Durian preprocessing

Start with the retained product

Compare whole fruit, prepared edible portions and processed ingredients before combining machines. Attributed equipment and process images below explain the different duties; actual fruit, tooling and accepted output remain part of the supply specification.

Compare washing, trimming or peeling, cutting, sorting, dewatering and packaging below. Attributed manufacturer images explain equipment roles. General family references require the actual crop configuration and a representative trial.

Choose the finished-product route

Whole fruit

clean and inspect the intact husk, then handle and pack to the chosen market programme.

Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.

Retained flesh

open prepared fruit, remove the husk, inspect the specified flesh/seed portion and pack.

Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.

Paste or pulp

prepare flesh, separate unwanted seed and husk material, reduce and fill to the downstream specification.

Compare actual input and accepted output before choosing the line.

Agree pre-cleaning, trimming, cutting and final-wash order for the incoming material and intended use. These routes are specification aids, not universal process settings.

Washing: match cleaning to the destination

The processor reference illustrates cleaning of the durian exterior before manual opening. Treat it as that processor's example, not a universal cleaning specification. Define incoming debris, fruit condition and the handoff into exposed-flesh preparation.

Trimming: separate peel, seed and shell decisions

A processor example of manual opening and flesh collection. It is not an automatic opening-machine demonstration or a Food Machinery IQ installation.

Whole packs bypass opening. For flesh or paste, specify husk opening and the accepted flesh/seed portion separately. Do not assume a generic fruit peeler handles a durian husk or that every machine labelled extractor receives unopened whole fruit.

Cutting: choose pieces, reduction or extraction

New Idea Engineering

The source names a durian extractor but gives no required feed preparation or separation sequence. Clarify prepared flesh, seeds, husk exclusion and accepted output before comparing offers.

New Idea Engineering labels its equipment as a durian extractor, but its page does not specify the required feed preparation or separation sequence. Obtain that detail before purchase. Manual flesh collection, seed separation and paste reduction are separate acceptance decisions.

Sorting: inspect the retained product

Inspect intact fruit before opening, then check retained flesh for unwanted husk, seed material and damaged portions. Define accepted whole flesh separately from paste. An extractor image does not establish automatic foreign-material detection.

Dewatering: distinguish water removal from processing

Remove exterior wash-water carryover before exposed-flesh handling as required by the actual process. Freezing is not dewatering; define the required frozen product and the freezing system separately, without adopting a temperature or cycle from a promotional example.

Packaging: match the feeder and final pack

Mun Meng

A downstream freezing-stage reference. Freezing is separate from water removal and final pack closing; no temperature, storage-life or retention claim is adopted.

Whole fruit, supported flesh portions and paste have different packaging interfaces. Compare tray support, product compression, feeder contamination and final closure. A vacuum pack or freezer image alone cannot establish retained texture, validated storage conditions or shelf life.

Compare the actual retained product in a supplier trial

For durian, ask the maker to demonstrate the intended whole-fruit, prepared-piece or ingredient route. No unrelated generic film is substituted here. The equipment photographs and written source descriptions explain the roles without requiring video playback.

Prepare a durian equipment trial brief

  1. Bring representative input: variety, maturity, size, incoming condition and seasonal variation.
  2. Show accepted and rejected samples: retained skin, leaf, stem, head or cut form, useful rework and finished pack.
  3. Record useful output: trim/peel loss, damage, fines, missed defects, free water and rejected packs.
  4. Test interfaces: product supports, drops, screens, drainage, dose control, stops and restart.
  5. Confirm supplied configuration: safe access, guards, tooling, water circuits, utilities, cleaning and training.

Questions before choosing durian equipment

Can one machine perform all durian preparation stages?

Compare the required input and retained output at each interface. Whole-fruit handling, opening, peeling or seed removal, cutting, refining and packing are separate duties. A machine photograph is not evidence of a complete processing line.
